Transcendence– surreal vibrant fused glass sculpture by Georgie Stokol of a witch being burned and transformed into magic

Transcendence

Materials: Fused glass arched window sculpture, gold lustre

Size: 50 x 85 x 3cm

Status: In progress

Year: 2026

The vision of this glass art piece was gifted to me during a meditation a year ago, and the process of making this work come to life was absolutely delightful.

The moons are double-fused to give them extra “melt” and there are several layers to the flames that makes them so vibrant and rich. The extra details on the face, hair and bodice are painted using fusing ink and gold lustre.

Next phase: Finalise the painted imagery and frame with steel.

Georgie Stokol - Neon Lightning Bird

Lightning Bird (Neon Study)

Materials: Neon, glass

Size: 40 x 65 x 2cm

Status: Completed study

Year: 2025

Next phase: Using the techniques I learned in the creation of this piece, I will continue to work on new neon designs.

Georgie Stokol - Hand welded steel animal heads

Animal Heads (Series development)

Materials: Steel (tbc, resin, paint, illumination, etc.)

Size: Various (approx. 30 x 30 x 30 cm)

Status: In progress

Year: Ongoing since 2024

Next phase: I developed a series of welded animal heads at my residency at Bervic Engineering, and the intent is to experiment with finishes using resin, spray paint and wire, for example. Following sculpture completion, I will look to illuminating each of these pieces from within.

Georgie Stokol - Blown glass infused with plasma

Plasma Study

Materials: Blown glass infused with plasma

Size: 9 x 3 x 3cm

Status: Completed study

Year: 2025

Next phase: Using these techniques, I am now learning how to glass blow so that I can control the shapes that I want from molten glass, rather than trying to achieve desired results through blowing neon tubes.
