Georgie Stokol
Hello fellow Acid Goths! I am Georgie Stokol, an Australian artist who conjures worlds of decay and organic transformation through bold contrasts and textures. A lover of gothic subculture, street art, metal music, and the natural world, my work explores movement and spontaneity across diverse media. Since I committed to a fulltime creative practice mid 2024, I have showcased my work from Melbourne to Berlin. Currently, I am working towards an exhibition at the prestigious Art Space Ballarat in 2028.
In late 2025, I announced on social media my excitement of moving away from acrylic painting, seeking to build my skills and practice in oil painting. My intent is to use this incredible medium to bring my visions and dreams to life.
I am also extending my practice into 3D forms through my love of steel welding. I was lucky enough to learn how to use a MIG welder at a residency at Bervic Engineering, and am thrilled to see where this can take my creativity. Recently, I was named the 2025 recipient of the Haymes Foundation Award through the Ballarat Arts Foundation - a grant that will go towards my studio infrastructre.
Exciting times ahead! Looking forward to seeing you at a future exhibition!
